March 22 is World Water Day. The world is asked to focus on the issues that a lack of clean water poses to our society.
Nearly 1 billion people worldwide do not have access to clean water, and that lack of water is a serious cause of disease and economic hardship.

Use plastic bottles. You need something that can expand during fermentation. Glass bottles or jars are dangerous because they can shatter.
First, measure the brown sugar (1 part)
.
And then measure the fruit peels or vegetable waste (3 parts)
Put them into the bottles.
Add water (10 parts). You can also mix the sugar into the water before you pour into the bottle. Less messy.
And we will have some bottles of great enzymes in three months time. Label your bottles with the date you made them.
Remember to release the gas every day, a few times a day for the first few weeks. You don't want accidents. Just ask the 2 Hijau girls. Arlene had a free shower!
Ah, success. Good job everyone. :)
Show your mums and dads how to make more bottles at home. You eat fruits and vegetables every day, don't you? Save our landfills.

guess what.. ppl actually DO read our blog.. as in seriously.. i thought it's a blog just known among us, so guess how surprised i was when esther's friend (from other school) actually ENQUIRED on how to make enzymes.. i was like WHOA!! haha...
kk.. let's get straight to the point..
how my family uses the enzymes (yeah, hear it! we walk the talk, ppl!)
here are some pictures...
k, this is the main one... yap, we use it for our dishwashing..
it's easy to make.. ratio's 1:1:10..
don't understand? haha.. thought so...
let me explain..
1 part - enzyme
1 part - dishwashing soap detergent (anything, i use axion, haha..)
10 parts - water
as you can see my mum poked holes on the cover so we can just squirt out d enzyme-detergent mixture..
n yes, it washes real clean.. trust me..
next, shampoo..
yeah, you got me right.. i DO use the enzyme-shampoo..
i was a bit skeptical about using it at first, i mean, at first, when my mum made it, i was like, are you serious? haih...
but i'm forced to anyway.. haha.. so ya, now i'm used to it.. it works ok la..
ratio's 1:1:10 too
reason's because my mum read that sodium laureth sulphate (sls) in shampoo which makes the shampoo more foamy is actually a cancer causing toxin... the enzymes apparently break down this substance.. ok, i'm not sure about this.. better ask your chemistry teachers..
being 10 part water, yap, it's very watery..
lastly, fertilizer.. now THIS one i totally agree with..
check out the healthy plants in my house.. haha..
my mum's.....
and among my dad's darling orchids.. haha..
this is my personal favourite..
a close-up.. check it out..
beautiful huh.. haha..
that's proof enough of the effect of enzymes as fertilizers huh..
d ratio's 1:1000
1 part enzyme, 1000 parts water..
feels like too little an amount of enzyme? be careful.. because that was what my dad thought.. he made the enzyme mixture a little more concentrated... and the next thing, the plants were looking bad... sad
right, that's basically how d shu yoong family uses our enzymes..
try it and have fun,
besides, it's cool knowing you're doing your part in saving our earth..
embrace our nature, ensure our future
blessings,
shuyoong ; )
