4 Science 1 embarking on our enzyme project

We're halfway through and our enzymes should be ready soon.

Advantages of Garbage Enzymes

There are many advantages to using garbage enzyme, aka eco-enzyme.

1. Saves the ozone, save yourselves.

The production of garbage enzyme releases O3 molecules, which is what the ozone layer is made of. Therefore, by making garbage enzyme, we are saving earth's ozone layer.
By saving the ozone layer, we can reduce the many harmful effects of the suns ultra-violet rays, such as the occurence of skin cancer.

2. Minimizes waste

Making garbage enzymes minimizes the amount of waste produced by a household because many waste products, such as peels of fruits and old vegetables can be used to make the enzyme.

3. Saves cost

Garbage enzyme can be used as a cleaning agent. It can be used to wash dishes, clean toilets, as well as to wash hair. Therefore, a lot of money can be saved from buying washing liquid and shampoo.

Garbage enzyme has plenty of advantages. However, there are still some things one needs to be cautious about.

1. May cause minor irritation the skin
Garbage enzyme is environmental friendly. However, it is good for some people who have extra sensitive skin to wear gloves when you wash plates. Just a normal precaution. There's still one part of chemical detergent in it. Remember to dilute to the correct proportion. One part detergent, one part enzyme and ten parts water.

2. Takes time and patience
For garbage enzyme to mature, it takes up to 3 months. Furthermore, the lids are to be loosened once or more times a day for gas to escape. It just needs a little patience to attain something good.

Uses of Enzyme part 4

In homes
  • As a household cleaning liquid
  • to remove foul molds and grime in the kitchen and toilet
  • to drive away insects
  • to clean carpets and remove ticks
  • for laundry washing and ironing
  • for mopping floor
  • for cleaning cars

Uses of enzyme part 3

In Agriculture
  • To reduce the usage or chemical fertilizers
  • To keep the farm free from insects and infections
  • As soil fertilizers for vegetable growing
  • As a natural pesticide and herbicide
  • To convert sandy land to fertile farm land
  • Keep the air cool and clean in the farm atmosphere
  • Clean dirty and impure water in the farm

Uses of Enzyme part 2

Biological Detergent
  • Used for presoak conditions and direct liquid applications
  • Detergents for machine dish washing to remove resistant starch residues
  • Used to assist in the new removal of fatty and oily stains

Dairy Products

  • Manufacture of cheese, used to hydrolyze protein
  • Is implemented during the production of Roquefort Cheese
  • Break down lactose to glucose and galactose

Uses of Enzyme

-Enzymes are used in the chemical industry
-Enzymes in general are limited in the number or reactions they have evolved to catalyze
- Enzymes lack of their stability in organic solvents at high temperature

The Baking Industry

- Protease
- Catalyze breakdown of starch in the flour to sugar
- Biscuit manufacturers use them to lower the protein level
of flour

The Brewing Industry

- Enzymes degrade starch and proteins to produce simple
sugar , amino acids and peptides that are used by yeast for
fermentation
- Widely used in the brewing process to substitute for the natural
enzymes found in barley
- Improve the beer filtration characteristics
- Low- calorie beer and adjustment of fermentability
- Remove cloudiness produced during storage of beers

Starch Industries
- Converts starch into glucose and various syrups
- Converts glucose into fructose in productions of high fructose
syrup from starchy materials .

Meat Tenderizer

- To soften meat for cooking
